Though few in number and small in stature, the molimpodsea stand as titans in economic trade and politics across all of Avestros for a simple reason: they are the guardians, overseers, and occasional plunderers of the vicious Vortex Sea. Any trade that hopes to make it from the south to the north must either travel through endless miles of mountains, swamps, and forests, or leave via the southern ports and cross the deadly waters over which molimpodsea claim dominion. Though friendlier species, like the mob-mobs, will aid struggling cargo ships to save the souls on board, the molimpodsea are significantly more mercenary. They control the shipping lanes across the Vortex Sea, and sell the safest routes to the highest bidder.
