Of all the curiosities that crawl from the ocean deep or fall from the heavens high, settle on land, and declare themselves sovereign, none are so peculiar as the mimikin—humanoids who trace mimic blood in their ancestry. Shapeshifters are not unheard of in Avestros, but the mimikin draw distinction from changelings and doppelgangers for their ability to unerringly borrow the forms of inanimate objects. Their true shape is similar to that of a typical human, with a waxy sheen to their skin and pitch black eyes and hair. This form is rarely seen, however, as typically mimikin roam the lands in a preferred skin, be it elf, human, goblin, or wheelbarrow.
